Because in a world that relies so much on social media and snapshots of lives, it is important to see past the filters and the captions. Social media is but a glimpse into a person's life, one that hides much. Look into the eyes to see the soul. Is there a light there that is being shared with the world, or hidden tears?
You wake up, go to a job you may or may not hate, and spend the rest of your waking hours ticking off boxes on a to-do list. Sounds great….not!
If I waited to make a decision until I was 100% sure, I would still be standing in the middle of a toy aisle trying to decide which Barbie to get.
Change can be scary, it’s a step into the unknown, but it is necessary, even good, for it allows us to grow. It allows us to look at the world through a new window.
When you reflect on 2020, think long and hard over the entirety of it and not just one aspect.
I would describe current events as an indoor roller-coaster; you know nothing about what is up ahead, just hang on for dear life and pray the handlebar is snapped securely into place. Of course the entire time you’re screaming at the top of your lungs to get off this insane ride.
Perhaps the solution is in making writing a part of life instead of a luxury in life, making it a habit instead of a hobby.
Sometimes dinner is just a crappy $5 pizza, but sometimes it’s a grilled steak. Likewise, sometimes we only get a few minutes to enjoy a little time for ourselves, and sometimes we get a whole day. The important thing is that you do it and that you make it count.
